My husband Mike and I have been married for 35 years and have 3 wonderful children and one beautiful grand baby. We lived just south of Richmond, Virginia for 19 years, and relocated to Bluffton, SC in 2019. We love God, our family, traveling and our 2 fur babies.
About 7 years ago, as I was approaching 50, I told my husband that I wanted to go far away to celebrate by ourselves. I didn't want a party or friends to surprise me. At the time, I had faced some physical challenges, had a senior in high school, was the primary caregiver to my 90-year old father, and just flat out overwhelmed with life. I was working as a retail merchandiser and dinner was usually something simple or microwavable. I had become somewhat of a recluse, losing interest in doing much socially.
