Over 10 years ago I got the catalog from a friend. I immediately loved the products and started writing down my wish list. As I looked at the back cover and saw "join for $99", I felt a tug to give it a shot. I thought to myself, how many times do I go to Target and spend $99 and not have anything to show for it. I decided to go for it. I was a stay at home mom at the time that I started with a one year old daughter. I had completely lost myself and needed something for just me. Not me as a wife, homemaker or mother. Just Heidi. I also wanted the ability to pay for a new blouse or swim lessons for my daughter and not have to sacrifice from the family budget. So I took a leap of faith.
It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I would not say that I am a sales girl and did not know how I would do. But one of my favorite parts is meeting women from all different walks and seeing how similar we all are. Fast forward to three years later, I became a single mom and I was able to not work a 9-5 job and do Thirty-One full time. It provided me with more than enough to buy a home and support my daughter and as the years grew, so did my income and I was able to live a financially free life and explore my other passion which is travel. I love being able to be ever present in every area of my daughters life. I can take her and pick her up from school. I can take her to soccer practices and see all of her games. I have not had to sacrifice missing any of her life because of my career. I truly live the dream and have both. I also do not have to report to anyone with my schedule and I am in charge of when and where I work. I LOVE the flexibility.
